Teaching steps: Step one: Warm-up

Arrange the pictures in order.
T: These pictures are not in a correct order. Who can number them?
Have students number the pictures.
T: How can we number the pictures correctly?
Present the text
T: Open your book to page 19. Listen and think how to match the words to the pictures.
Check the answer
Read tiie passage Amy’s day in a correct order.
Step three: Practice 1. Look and write
(1).T draws a clock on the board. Have students ask and answer.
SI: What time is it? S2: It’s… It’s time for/to…
T writes down the question and the answer, have students pay more attention to the writing.
T: How do we write it?
First, the first letter of each sentences, should be written in a big letter.
Then make space between two words. At last, don’t forget the mark.
Have students write it down on their copy book.
Have students draw the time on their book, ask one of them come to the front, draw and write. The others write the sentences on their books
Check Ss’ handwriting.
Step four: Consolidation and extension Task 1: Look, read and stick
T: Today we read a passage about Amy’s day. I want to show you a boy’s day–Sam’s day. Take out the envelope. I put some pictures and some words in it. Please stick the right words to the right pictures.
Ss look at the picture, read the sentences and match.
Task 2: Make a story about Sam’s day
Have students order the pictures and stick them on the paper.
Ss order tiie pictures to be a story.
Task 3: Talk about Sam’s day Have students read the story together.
Step five: Homework
Read tiie picture book Sam’s day.
Copy down the sentences we have wrote today.
